Maggie spent 34 years as a nurse before changing careers and becoming a National Accredited Dog Trainer and Dog Groomer setting up a home-based business in this field. In 2016 she went back to the health care industry becoming an Ambulance Transport Officer then retiring in 2024.
Maggie married the love of her life, Rob, in 1987 who was an architect and set up his own practice in 2011. Her introduction to Young Onset Dementia came when Rob was diagnosed with this disease in 2018. Maggie was determined to give Rob the best years possible until his death in 2023. To do this it was imperative to keep him active in the community enjoying his passions of architecture, marathon running, sport and engaging with others. Rob was passionate about art and music and both of these gave him immense joy.
YODyssey was started by Maggies brother Greg Hall and his partner Maree Laffan in 2021 allowing Rob to have a solo exhibition of his artwork. Maggie is passionate about giving Young Onset Dementia a voice and to that aim has set up the Rob Anson Perpetual Award- Peoples Choice Award with prize money of $500 to support artists with Young Onset Dementia.
