Greg Hall is a minerals exploration geologist who graduated from University of New South Wales in 1973 and has worked in Australia 1973 to 1997 and worldwide since 1997. Greg was Chief Geologist for Placer Dome Group from 2000 to 2006. The discovery of Rio Tinto’s Yandi iron ore mine (1974) and Gold Fields’s Granny Smith gold mine (1987) both in WA are highlights in his career.
Greg became involved with Young Onset Dementia when his brother-in-law Robert Anson was diagnosed in 2018. Robert quickly became a skilled painter displaying creativity and use of vibrant colours as was evident in his career as an architect. ‘YODyssey 2021’ was created to give Robert a platform to display his career and his artwork in a solo exhibition while he was still consciously aware of his art, family and friends who attended his exhibition. YODyssey was extended in subsequent years to give other artists the same opportunity. Sadly, none of these featured artists are still alive.
