Chris was a career soldier for over 40 years. He spent over 30 years in the SASR at Campbell Barracks, and saw operational duties in Cambodia, East Timor and Afghanistan.
Chris has always enjoyed painting and at painted during high school. This painting of a poppy - Remeberance - was first started over 20 years ago, but at the time Chris had a young family and did not have enough time to finish the piece. It went up to the attic, which is where it stayed until he retired in 2025 due to his diagnosis, and started art classes with the amazing Genevieve Montgomerie in Mosman Park. Gen helped him refine some of the colour tones, and gave him some guidance on different techniques, which resulted in a painting that he is truly proud of.
Chris enjoys spending time outdoors. He was a trek leader for some time on the Larapinta Trail, and has crossed the Kokoda Track in both directions. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and staying active.
